This loft apartment is located in Toronto, Canada. The interior was a project by LUX Design, a team of seven talented designers with plenty of experience in both residential and commercial projects, and has strong industrial influences. Large columns and beams define the entire space and the ceiling was left unfinished throughout.
Although the décor is simple and the colors are not striking, the interior is full of interesting elements. One example is the cool coffee table in the living room. It’s made of lots of thin tree thunk pieces which were aligned to form a rectangular module.
The coffee table and the bar stools are among the few elements that add a bit of color and warmth to the décor. Everything else is neutral and infused in gray. If not for these details this would look like a scene from an old black and white movie.
The living space shares an open floor plan with the kitchen and the dining area. The kitchen has a minimalist design, featuring a white subway tile backsplash, open shelves and gray cabinetry. A small island doubles as a bar and features a white countertop complemented by a matching light fixture.
The apartment doesn’t seem particularly bright because of the color. However, it has large windows and glass walls that offer it panoramic views and let in natural light.
The dining area features what seems to be a table made of reclaimed wood. Above it, three industrial-style pendant lights give this space a particularly interesting and intriguing look. Diverse photo frames are displayed on the white wall, adding a bit of color to the dining zone.
The open plan continues around the corner where a home office space can be found. It has black chalkboard walls and a world map drawing. The desk is simple, with a polished design that allows it to blend in perfectly without stealing the focus from the walls.
Another interesting feature is the indoor bike rack, mounted on the wall. The bike becomes an eye-catching decoration along with the globe chandelier and the abstract wall art. The corner serves as a comfy seating nook or reading spot.
